Frequently asked questions
What is Ains Reads Publish?
The tools site for the people behind the content on Ains Reads — authors, printing presses, publishers and transporters. Reading happens on the main Ains Reads site and in the Mobile/PC apps; this site is where that content and those businesses get managed.
Do I need a separate account to use Publish?
No. Sign in with the same Microsoft account you already use on Ains Reads — there's no separate registration for this site.
How do I become an author?
Any signed-in account can turn on authoring — go to Start publishing. There's no application or approval step.
How do I register a press, publisher or transport business?
Same idea — one form each, free, no role gate: press, publisher, transport. See How it works for what happens after you register.
Why is my business still inactive after registering?
That's expected. Registering creates the business record, but it only starts working after identity verification (KYB) succeeds and final activation is completed — see How it works for the full sequence.
Why does business verification ask me to subscribe first?
Each identity-verification check costs the platform real money, so it's gated behind an active reader subscription rather than being free to trigger repeatedly. Subscribing happens on the main Ains Reads site.
Is the print marketplace live? Can I fulfill or place a physical order today?
Not yet. It's fully built — pricing, escrow, delivery confirmation — but deliberately switched off at the supply side while presses onboard first. Registering now is real groundwork for when it opens up.
How do authors get paid?
Reader chapter-unlocks are tracked in Ains Reads' coin ledger today. A full payout/ withdrawal system for authors and publishers is planned but not live yet.
Can a publisher take over an author's book?
No — publisher involvement in a book is linked, not transferred. If the author is on-platform, the linkage points at their real account, and the only thing that gives the author is visibility into that book's performance. It never changes payout or control.
