How Ains Reads Publish works
Ains Reads Publish is where authors, printing presses, publishers and transporters manage their side of the platform. Everything here shares one account with the main Ains Reads reader site — there's nothing separate to register.
1. Sign in
Use the "Sign in" link in the top navigation — it's the same Microsoft account you use on the reader site. There's no separate Publish login.
2. Turn on the capability you need
Author, reader, and business operator are all just capabilities on one account, and none of them cost anything to turn on:
- Author is instant and self-service — one click on Start publishing and you can create a title straight away.
- Printing press, publisher and transport are registered as separate business entities, one form each: register a press, register a publisher, or register a transporter. Registration itself is free and immediate.
3. Get verified (businesses only)
A newly registered business starts inactive — that's expected, not a bug. Two steps unlock it:
- Identity verification (KYB) is self-service from your business's page, using a secure ID-document check. Because each verification check costs the platform real money, it requires an active reader subscription first — you'll see a prompt to subscribe if you don't have one yet.
- Final activation is reviewed once verification succeeds before a business can start transacting. You'll see its status update on your businesses page.
4. Do the work
What "doing the work" means depends on which capability you're using:
- Authors create a title, add editions (serialized, standalone or box set) and chapters, then publish — readers see it on the main site the moment it's published.
- Printing presses declare their print capabilities (size, material, binding, cover options) and self-set pricing for each, then compete for reader-driven print contracts as they come in.
- Publishers can acquire, publish and distribute books in any format — digital or physical — on behalf of the authors they work with.
- Transporters accept fulfillment jobs matched to their coverage area and mark orders delivered once handed off.
Where things stand today
Ains Reads' print marketplace is fully built end-to-end — pricing engine, escrow, delivery confirmation, everything — but it's intentionally disabled at the supply side while presses onboard first. Registering a press, publisher or transporter now is real and useful groundwork; live print contracts and orders aren't flowing yet.
